Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) and Peak VO2 Testing

Our facilities are equipped with the same technology professional athletes use to maximize their workouts. At DASHA, state-of-the-art technology, including Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) and VO2 testing from CardioCoach Plus, is at your finger tips. This technology will allow you to learn the most efficient and scientific way to lose weight in a friendly and comforting atmosphere.

WHAT IS METABOLIC TESTING?

Peak VO2The CardioCoach Plus from KORR Medical Technologies delivers simple and accurate fitness testing. It measures key data including peak VO2, anaerobic threshold, and the precise amount of calories burned at all exercise heart rate levels. This data can be used as the foundation for customized Athletic Training and Weight Loss packages that truly meet the needs of the individual.

RMR Testing

RMR Testing measures each client’s rate of metabolism and calculates individual daily caloric needs. It can be used to determine precisely how many calories you may eat each day and still lose weight. RMR Testing is available alone or in combination with a Personal Training session or package.

Peak VO2 Testing

Peak VO2 is the maximum amount of oxygen consumed by the body during exercise. Considered by exercise physiologists to be the ultimate indicator of cardiovascular fitness, Peak VO2 testing is intended for athletes or those who train like athletes. It determines target heart rate zones and is used to create a personalized exercise regimen for optimum training and results.

How does CardioCoach Plus technology work?

While in the past, these types of measurements have only been available by using cumbersome, expensive equipment in hospitals, universities, or professional training facilities, CardioCoach Plus technology works quickly and efficiently in the comfort of the DASHA Boutique Gym. The CardioCoach Plus report includes a table indicating how many calories a client burns at every exercise heart rate level. With this information, there is no longer a need to rely on generalized estimates of calories burned provided by a bike or treadmill.
The technology determines each individual’s anaerobic threshold (AT), which is the maximum exercise intensity level at which the body can supply adequate oxygen to the muscles. Exercising below the AT should be possible for long periods of time without experiencing muscle fatigue or soreness during or following the workout. Working out above the anaerobic threshold will improve cardiovascular fitness, but it will also lead to fatigue and discomfort during and following the workout.
